Taking the Medication Administration Training (MAT)
course just got more convenient!

If you feel like you don’t have enough time to get away from your program to take the MAT course,but you want to become approved to give medication, then the MAT Independent Study course is for you!

You can study all of the training materials on your own and at your own pace. When you feel you’re ready, you’ll only need to meet with a MAT trainer for a few hours to complete the testing. When you pass, you will get 8 training hours and a MAT certificate.

The MAT Participant Study Guide will walk you through the steps to complete Part One. Print and review all of the MAT Participant Handouts and watch all parts of the MAT Video.

Once you have finished studying the materials and completed the exercises, contact a MAT trainer to schedule a time to be tested to complete Part Two.

You can apply for MAT Grant funds to help offset the cost of testing.

If you are unable to download or print the materials for Independent Study, you can order them from the MAT Program. Fill out the order form and fax it to 518-472-5901 or email it to mat@pdp.albany.edu. Please allow 3-4 weeks to process your request.

When you take the time to become approved to give medication, be proud and tell parents you have gone above and beyond the minimum requirements to provide the best care for their child, not just for today, but for what tomorrow may bring.
